Eva and Franco Mattes are renowned for their controversial performances outside traditional art venues which involve an unaware audience and aim to blur the boudaries between truth and falsehood. Examples of their performances include advertising for fake movies and creating the code for a computer virus and then releasing it. Their works have earned them notoriety to the point of being dubbed the “Bonnie and Clyde of contemporary art”. Their performances have been publicized internationally, for example in New York, Frankfurt and Tokyo.
